Mr. Don Baker
Welcome to Mountain Pointe Academics!
Don Baker grew up in Southern California and attended Towson University in Baltimore, MD where he was a member of the debate team. After college, Mr. Baker began his 15 year teaching career at Chaminade College Prep in West Hills, CA where he taught AP History and Government and led the Speech and Debate Team. Mr. Baker moved to Arizona in 2005 and began coaching softball while continuing his teaching career. After spending time at Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley and Westwood High School in Mesa, Mr. Baker completed his Master's degree in Educational Leadership and moved to Tempe High School as the Dean of Students. Mr. Baker has been a member of the Pride since 2023 when he joined Mountain Pointe as the Assistant Principal of Activities.
In his spare time Mr. Baker enjoys traveling with his wife Brieanna, reading, and baking. He has three adult children, Daughters AJ and Hayley, and son Jaxson. Mr. Baker is excited to be a part of the Mountain Pointe family where he will work to have our students excel and become productive human beings with ample opportunities to reach their goals.
