Cheer - Meet the Coaching Staff

Hello everyone! My name is Hannah Struckmann, and I am the Head Coach of the Mountain Pointe Cheer team. I am excited to be going into my second season as the head coach. I am a proud Mountain Pointe alumni and take great pride in being able to continue my coaching career in a program I once was a part of. This program has fostered many values that I still instill in my life today and I am excited to continue the legacy of the program.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Social Work at Arizona State University. I completed my Bachelor’s at the University of Arizona and received my degree in Psychology. I also work in the Kyrene School District within the Exceptional Student Services department. I love being in a school setting and fostering a community with teachers and students. When I am not coaching, being a student, or working, I love spending time with my family, friends, and dogs.
I am so excited for all the work, team building, and memories that will take place this seasoning! Please reach out at hstruckmann@tuhsd.k12.az.us with any questions.

Hi everyone! My name is Mya Moody, and I am so excited to be the new JV Cheer Coach at Mountain Pointe High School! Being back at Mountain Pointe feels incredibly special and truly like a full-circle moment for me. I was a Mountain Pointe cheerleader from 2017–2021, and now getting the opportunity to come back and coach is something I’m so grateful for.
I have been cheering since I was 5 years old, so cheer has been a huge part of my life for the past 13 years. Through cheer, I’ve learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, discipline, confidence, and building strong relationships, and I cannot wait to help bring those same values to this team.
I recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with my Master’s degree in Special Education, and this upcoming school year I will be teaching at Kyrene Middle School right down the street from Mountain Pointe. I also plan on continuing my education at Arizona State University as I work toward my doctoral degree, so I definitely have a busy schedule ahead — but I could not be more excited to be coaching this program.
I’m especially excited because my younger brothers attend Mountain Pointe and play on the basketball team, so getting to see my girls cheer for them and represent our school spirit is going to be so much fun. I’m also excited to coach alongside Hannah, someone I used to cheer with myself, which makes this experience even more meaningful.
Most importantly, I am excited to build relationships with the athletes, create a positive and hardworking environment, and help this team strive for greatness both on and off the sidelines. I cannot wait for this season and all the memories we’re going to make together. Go Pride!
